"Zisha" is the umbrella term for all clay ore materials found in Yixing, China, including Zi Ni (purple clay),Hong Ni (red clay),Lv Ni (green clay),Duan Ni and Jiangpo Ni (Symbiotic Clay). Thus, it is called a "Zisha" teapot (based on materials) or a "Yixing" teapot (based on origin).
The origin of the Zisha teapot can be traced back to the Song Dynasty (15th Century). After hundreds of years of development and evolution, it gradually formed a unique artistic style and cultural significance. In Chinese traditional culture, the Zisha teapot not only has practical value but also serves as a carrier of traditional culture, embodying the Chinese nation's long history of tea culture.
